CENTRE FOR NEW GEOGRAPHY
The Centre for New Geography is a digital installation commissioned by Multicultural Arts Victoria for Mapping Melbourne, 2020/21. Made in collaboration with artist Victoria Chiu featuring dancers Nebahat Erpolat, Katina Olsen, Raina Peterson, and Kristina Chan, the Centre for New Geography is a realm that encapsulates the essence of our surroundings, our origins, and the interconnectivity of our physical existence.
It evokes the sensation of being present in a specific location, of belonging to it, and the notion of our bodies serving as a convergence of multiple spaces. Geography as the study of spatial relationships, finds its embodiment through our collaboration.
